The AT Protocol is an open standard for social software. I, and the community, have many ideas for experiences that can be built using the protocol. Here are a few.
📛 Pronouns
Keep pronouns in a lexicon that is reusable by any profile or labeler.
pronouns.cc / pronouns.page on atproto could be cool! labelers can pull from it, blento and other atproto sites can reference it in profiles

LinkedIn style advanced filtering of your social graph.
🗺️ PDS Map
Infinite canvas with islands and continents of PDSes with icons of every individual user. See the scale of different PDSes and maybe even animate when people move.
🛂 AT Passport
Your digital passport to the ATmosphere with stamps for every atproto app you’ve used.
🌐 AT Home
A personal website that streams all of its content from your atproto account. Blog posts, microblogs, images, book reviews, all of it!
📍 Geocaching
ATgeo records for caches and posts for finding them / adding stuff to the cache.
🎙️ Collaborative Oral Storytelling
Not quite voice chat, not quite a podcast. Something in between with longform narratives in a (branching?) document and multiple contributors per story.
💬 Discord x Canny.io
A discussion forum focused on product communities. Triage feature requests and bug reports. Posthoc linking of messages to feature threads.
One thing that would help from the discord perspective is the ability for the OP or admins to *move* messages. So if someone makes a feat request in a chat it’s moved to that feat. request discussion thread. And along those lines, the ability to create threads after-the-fact and move messages in

📦 PDS in a box
A plug-in to the wall and forget about it PDS in a box. Designed for normal users to plug in at their home maybe has a simple web UI or even a display and keyboard built into it like a cyber deck. Receives over the updates. Upgradable storage. Locally served account migration tool. Easy to set up cloud back up to common services like Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Nextcloud or even custom cloud backup or even just to an external drive.
i'm telling ya, being able to buy a cute little bluesky PDS box that you can plug in at home, or use an existing mini PC at home or raspi, and truly own your data would be a big step towards true decentralization arstechnica.com/gadgets/2025...
💽 ATproto native database product
A database product, not unlike postgress for developers to include in their stack that makes it super easy to set up an app for you with its database and communication to relays or PDS’s.

The best open source digital whiteboard uses a JSON format. I bet it could be encoded into a record and stored on the PDS.

What if having a social identity was a public good? Not everyone would want to host with a govt service, but for those who want a free and public option, it could be nice!
